When you contest the violation notice in a hearing, the judge has the ability of upgrading your violation to a full moving violation, which will affect the fine amount applied to the violation along with your driving record and possible insurance status.

When a violation is recorded, the registered owners information is supplied by the Secretary of States’ office and the Department of Motor Vehicles. Only the registered owners name, address and vehicle information can be viewed. Refer to our Privacy Policy to review how your information is used.

Illinois Video Traffic Enforcement, Inc. uses the best in Doppler Digital Radar supplied by the Kustom Signals corporation. The systems are court approved and individually certified for accuracy.
The same equipment is used by the Illinois State Police along with hundreds of police departments across the country.
Can the radar readings be changed or faked?
The radar unit is fully self-contained. Vehicle speed and GPS location information cannot be added or deleted to the video recordings. Your vehicles speed can only be obtained after the patrol vehicles speed is recorded using the same radar unit. The whole process takes less than 1 second. By the time a radar detector alerts you, your vehicle has been recorded and filed.
